The other night I felt like jazz, also some gimlet, so I headed to Fiction in Williamsburg. Or was it the other way around? You know, causality might be a myth. Anyways, I ordered Lavender Gimlet 🟣 with a fond memory of.. the previous Lavender Gimlet I had. At Fiction, there are always some people doing some visual design of drawing stuff, who must be at least okay with jazz.

Unlike in rock music, guitar is not quite the instrument in jazz. Trumpets buzz, pianos wave. Drums and bass are groovin’. In the night though, I met one of the guitarists I really wanted to see - Jeff Miles. Although he was not the bandleader of the night, I definitely enjoyed his presence in a band with two sax’s and others. Amazing guitar sound, really! Check out his music if you like progressive, choirs, maybe 20th century’s classical music, or.. the periphery of knowing, or jazz, or if you feel like exploring.

Jeff told me that night that he is working on his next album, which will be like 2.0 of his previous album, and I was like yes! The previous album already blew my mind! Then he said,

“Yes yes, give me two more years, then I’ll finish it.”

Speaking of guitar, Saul Cosme 🇲🇽 released a new single: La Martiniara, which means.. I guess.. something muy bien, muy bien. You can also learn guitar, or his show schedule from his ig!

Although I’m extremely tempted to introduce one more guitarist, I’ll test how a short letter goes this time. See you at the next JazzBuzz-Irregularly! It won’t take two more years.
