Hi, JazzBees!
The other night I went to CloseUp, a new and gen-z jazz venue in LES. Just $25 pp, and very close to Birria LES taco in case you need a bit more motivation. Jazz! Everyday!!

1. Then I saw the Steven Crammer (D) - Evan Main (P) - Walter Stinson (B) trio. All very very in-demand musicians! It was my first time seeing Crammer as a band leader, and isn’t it interesting to see a drummer leading a band? Not exactly the same kind of music, but perhaps you can check out his previous albums like Nortonk (by Nortonk, 2021), or Chaotic Neutral (by Max Light, 2023) and enjoy how his metallic and wooden percussions flow in various odd meters.
2. I only met Evan Main once at Crammer’s BBQ party (which was amazing btw, fyi, fwiw, iykyk) and with a bunch of other people, didn’t even know which instruments all the people play (and they all do!) And wow, I was so glad to listen to his music live! You should really check out how this pianist with such a low-key profile picture can get you beautiful piano sounds, like.. this music/video titled “sports”.
3. Walter Stinson doesn’t seem to have a website which surprises me. Yet another extremely talented jazz musician with nearly zero self-promotion.. Well, that’s why I’m running JazzBuzz! At least he has an ig @wawasonstin where he shares his show schedules. .. In Story.. So only 24 hours ahead heads up. Luckily, we can google to find some of the albums he featured.
Finally, I uploaded the second video of my show - “unspoken serenity (보여주지 않아도)”, with my state-of-the-art thumbnail again. Yes you’ll love the video.. You’re welcome, in advance, hahah!
